I started this blog in 2007 when I first fell in love with riding. Since then, it has evolved like any good blog should over two decades. It was well-loved. Then neglected. Then it was overtaken by the shininess of social media. And now, re-appreciated.
It makes sense. When I started, I was just a kid with lots of free time on my hands and a fun hobby. I worked in design and needed my own creative outlet. After a couple of years, I had a couple of kiddos and time got real tight. Rides were still happening, but the windows were shorter and the free time to reflect was far less substantial.
What never changed was how much I’ve appreciated riding…and doing so with my friends. It’s my meditation, my therapy, my escape, a place to laugh with friends, push each other a bit, and an excuse for a post-ride beer or to venture out and see something new.
My other creative outlet is my artwork (watercolor & ink). It’s another place to create and explore. At one point I thought of consolidating my blogs. Did I really need two websites? I almost cut this one loose. But I’m glad I didn’t. It’s fun to have this dedicated space to play and all the memories that come with it.
So, thank you for visiting. Say “hi” here or on my socials. And if you see some really old blogs that need some cleanup, just know that I’m getting there. A lot of it was able to be carried over from my ancient blog platform, but those oldies need a little love and elbow grease to be restored properly.
Welcome (or welcome back). It’s good to be here :)
